i suppose now is the best time to write something a gig looming on the horizon a night of drink and delights dropping slowly to the past inspiration striking like a fresh match in the midnight dark so this is it what we've all been waiting for for years and for seconds for everything we've ever done and never done perhaps this is all that matters maybe it matters not we are the ridings.

formed two thousand and seven, or properly, 1990. take your pick, all that matters is the present and what's to come, there's much to come. come down tomorrow, come down next week, come down this year or next, for better and for worse and all that. if you've come down before then get down again. get dirty or get filthy, get wet or get drenched, tough or rough, crisp or clean, we are who we are, you are who you want to be, aren't you? get deep or get deeper or get even deeper still, or stay alive and well on the surface, let the whole thing rise up around you and live it for what it is and not for what anyone else says it should be. we don't care for that. look around, or just stay quiet and listen. fucking turn it up. if this is all you've ever wanted then you've never wanted much, but you've certainly wanted enough. don't settle for second best, for nothing short of quite compelling, at least we are the ridings, and we can't fucking wait!

"Indie, punk, alternative. Based in Wakefield area, I've seen these guys a couple of times and they get better and better. Strong lyrics, tight playing and good entertainment value."

'The Ridings are an Indie, punk, alternative band from the Wakefield area. Consisting of Kris Holland, Danny Johnson, Danny Curtis and Craig Morvan this band are definitely one to watch for out for in 2009. With their catchy riffs and great lyrics The Ridings will have you transfixed from their first number to their last!'

- Fake Festival Review

The Ridings have taken the concept of owning nice guitars and added to it the ability of actually being able to play them very very f&^king well. With the backing of a now much heavier, dirtier backline, and the audacity to open a set with a cover of french electro heroes Justice’s ‘We Are Your Friends’ The Ridings are gathering pace at some speed, please please check out their ever increasing number of tight as you like pop gems.
